I have a different blog now. Hopefully I will be able to keep up with the new one, especially since I will be stay-at-home now. Here is the address:

http://thetenneys08.blogspot.com/

There is only one post on there so far, but I hope to post more in the next week or so, especially since I am pregnant and the little guy will be arriving in just over two months! :)EmilyLemilyhttp://www.blogger.com/profile/05193272896917269278noreply@blogger.com0tag:blogger.com,1999:blog-6111070942729046874.post-49432284317901978712009-09-18T14:56:00.003-06:002009-09-18T15:09:41.336-06:00List of the Happenings of the TenneysThere has been a lot going on and I cannot even think of everything, but this all has happened during the past week, not in any particular order:

Our truck was stolen from Ison's work, which is the hospital off base.

We bought a 10 year old minivan that works great and is paid in full.

Our fish were sick and dying the same day the truck was stolen.

We gave away all of our fancy goldfish.

We now have 17 (we had 18, one died) angelfish: koi, marble veil, gold veil, and silver veil).

We have our 10 gallon aquarium up and running with live plants and 3 fancy guppies so far.

I was sick today and got to watch a couple of our corydora cat fish mate and lay eggs...which the angelfish ate right away.

There was a huge storm that dumped a lot of rain on us for 2 days, a rare occurrence here in the desert.

Our cat Patch has taken to playing with our bedroom doorknob at 5:30 in the morning...very annoying!

Our 1 year wedding anniversary is in 9 days!!! Since then we have driven to Arizona twice and flown up to Washington state for 2 1/2 weeks. We also planted a garden in our tiny back yard and it is almost time to harvest some of our veggies. I have been told by my orthodontist that next time I go in (end of August) I will be getting my braces off!!!! Hooray! I have started going on long walks a couple of times per week and that makes me feel so good and alert. My cats have been making me crazy by getting on the fridge and eating our granola bars!!!!! I have cooked more meals I believe than I ever have before...one day I made homemade mac-n-cheese, scalloped potatoes, banana bread, and snicker doodles. All was very tasty! Ice and I bought a 2001 Ford F-250 4 door truck and sold his old truck and lovely BMW Dakar motorcycle. Our niece/nephew collection jumped from 7 to 10 with Kayla, Lincoln, and Eva! Yay!

Much has happened and I know I am missing so much. I think I will try for a once a week update, since I know that I don't have the time to do this every day. :) I hope that it works!EmilyLemilyhttp://www.blogger.com/profile/05193272896917269278noreply@blogger.com0tag:blogger.com,1999:blog-6111070942729046874.post-39162548058859487712009-04-03T10:20:00.005-06:002009-04-03T10:38:00.013-06:00A New Tall-Person Table!Ison and I have been borrowing a dining table from my ex-roommates dad since we moved into our house on the air force base. Not our favorite table at all, but it served its purpose well. Ison is 6' 4'' and I'm 5' 9'' and we both have been wanting a tall table with tall chairs...the borrowed table was short, the chairs were coming apart constantly, and our legs barely fit under the table. Well, Daisy's dad wanted the table and chairs back, so we started shopping around for a nice table that would last us a long time.

In memory of the table that we used for 6 months, a lovely picture of it for you all to see:

One day we went to Furniture Row where they have a store within that sells wooden furniture. There was nothing there that I was impressed by, so we moved onto Mor furniture for less where we found a reasonable table that had 6 chairs and a butterfly leaf and it was tall enough. We decided that if we couldn't find anything else, then this would be our table. The other stores we went to that day were either closed or ridiculously expensive, so we waited until the next day to get a look at what Unpainted Furniture had. We had a winner!!! I fell in love with this table! We were not wanting cushioned seats, due to our cats, but I just loved it with its scalloped edging!

This is what it looks like with the butterfly leaf in place, but it is a little too long to keep that way in our dining area, so we will only make it this way when we have enough people to fill all the seats.

To show the height of the table, and to show off my lovely wonderful amazing husband, here is Ison next to the table. He was thrilled to get his picture taken. ;)

And here is what it looks like currently with the butterfly leaf folded within the table. all 6 of the chairs still fit around it, but it might be just a little too snug to leave this way if we had 5 or 6 people at it. Hooray! Let's see if it keeps up like this now...EmilyLemilyhttp://www.blogger.com/profile/05193272896917269278noreply@blogger.com4tag:blogger.com,1999:blog-6111070942729046874.post-45957162556753246352009-04-02T12:34:00.003-06:002009-04-02T12:46:03.005-06:00A Freezing SpringWhy is it so cold? It is spring and it is the desert, but the temperature seems to be playing some kind of game with me...nice warm days that invite a long walk through the neighborhood to the park, sun shining on my face telling me to get some flowers on the front stoop, and gentle breezes asking to be allowed through the house. This was all done, but then....the frost!!! And the snow!!! The temperature thought it funny that I got flowers and before I had time to plant them all safely in pots with warm soil, I had to cover them with plastic and pray that they would not die. Tragedy happened...all my sweet little impatiens died and were sent to the dump by way the garbage truck this week...

Fortunately, all my alyssum, violas and snapdragons survived this horrible joke the weather played on me and they are doing the best they can through the still cold days that have followed. I only hope that the sunlight lingers on them long enough for them to grow and bloom and thrive...these are the thoughts of a gardener who has a porch the faces the wrong direction...north-east...if they do not grow and I do not have a May with flowers, they might just find themselves in the back of the house to be enjoyed only by me and my husband...

:)EmilyLemilyhttp://www.blogger.com/profile/05193272896917269278noreply@blogger.com0tag:blogger.com,1999:blog-6111070942729046874.post-66859772902508686772009-03-23T14:00:00.003-06:002009-03-23T14:22:17.539-06:00My Mini Art Studio :)So I am actually updating my blog...is everyone in shock? Well, I certainly am. I am off work for a couple of weeks (one of the perks of working at a year round school) and have decided that it was time to post some updates. I have a lot of pictures, so it will take a few days to get everything on here, especially since I don't want to do more than one post in one day. I have other things to do.

So I love art, as you may or may not be aware of. I have grown up drawing. When I was in elementary school I used to go to a sister's house in our ward and do an art class with a few other girls and boys my age. I loved it! In high school I took several art classes and after I finished my degrees in college, I took an art class at a community college and plan on taking one this fall. I just love to do art! I love being able to create a picture with my own hands and learn different ways of drawing! I am on this website called DeviantART and have an account to be able to post my artwork. The link is to the right of the post, but it is www.enchanting84molly.blogspot.com and I would love for you to check it out sometime.

A couple of weeks ago, Ison and I ordered an art table off of the internet and I was so excited when it arrived! Art tables are so nice to have because they have a lot more surface area than a regular table and they are smooth, which dining tables generally are not. They also can tilt so you have a better perspective look at what you are drawing. Here is a picture of my table...excuse the mess...that room is a work in progress right now.

So I have a nice little table and little stool to sit at as I come up with my amazing artwork! ;) Here is a close up of what an amazing artist's work space looks like:

Impressive, isn't it? I don't have a picture of it, but my art table is close to Ison's desktop computer, so when he is working on homework or just on the computer, I get to be close by...isn't that sappy and sweet? ;) I love it!!!

There is a junior at the high school I work at who does art with markers and my old roommates sister does amazing grey-scale art with markers, so I decided that I should give it a try. I went online and found the cheapest ones I could find, Blick. Mind you, they still were more than I realized they would be, but they are the cheapest ones.

When you go onto my DeviantART account, you will see that my most recent entries are anime...I have always liked the style of anime and have been practicing a lot. I even got a "how to" book that I love and am going through page by page...also practicing my marker coloring skills while I do it. Here is my most recent anime drawing that I am working on shading at the moment. What do you think?

On DeviantART I get to look at many different people's art and decide if I want to try their style. There is a lot of retro-looking art that I really like, but the way they do it is with a computer program that I'm not sure if I want to see how much it is...so I am coming up with my own version of it with pen and my blick markers. These turned out to look more like regular cartoons, but I really like them! The one on the left is called "Curiousity" because she's getting a little too close to a jellyfish. ;) The one on the right is "Gotcha!" ...she was able to catch a mouse! Yes, I come up with silly little scenarios for my artwork sometimes...

Well, I hope you enjoyed this little show of my art. Please look at my DeviantART account, link on the right, to see more. I probably won't be putting anymore art on my blog because they look so much better on DeviantART than on here and you can see a large version of them.EmilyLemilyhttp://www.blogger.com/profile/05193272896917269278noreply@blogger.com1tag:blogger.com,1999:blog-6111070942729046874.post-84606072695002265482009-01-18T14:24:00.002-07:002009-01-18T14:39:48.615-07:00Elder Russell M. Nelson of the Quorum of the Twelve Apostles presided over it. It was so nice to be able to have an apostle come for our stake conference! Apparently the stake that we're in, the Albuquerque East New Mexico Stake, has not had an apostle visit since 1980! Everyone was very happy to be able to listen to what he had to say.

When he stood up and started to speak, I just felt the spirit so strongly and my heart felt so happy! The other speakers (who included the stake president (President Kerns), the temple matron and president (President Wattups married me and Ison), and Elder Web of the Seventy) mostly spoke about the importance of going to the temple and the blessings that we would recieve from going. Elder Nelson spoke about many things, more or less what parents should be remembering to teach to their children.

Here are some of the main points:

teach on the importance of prophets

teach the restoration of the priesthood

parents, help your children love you (he specificly said not to spank or publicly punich your children)

teach your young men of the sacred responsibility of serving a mission

priorities are first and formost on being worthy to meet the Lord, even during the hard times today

Obviously I took notes...it helps me to get so much more out of talks, otherwise I would not be able to focus as well. There are also doodles that I did...some are related to what people talked about, but others were just doodles I was thinking about. Becaouse I was able to take notes, I wrote down a few quotes from Elder Nelson to the T. Here is one of them everyone enjoyed regarding how he has been able to know many prophets:

"I've operated on some of them. I know them inside and out." :)

I am so greatful for having prophets and apostles here on the earth today to lead and guide us, especially during this day when so many things seem to be going wrong. I know that Elder Nelson is an apostle called of God and that what he says is truth.EmilyLemilyhttp://www.blogger.com/profile/05193272896917269278noreply@blogger.com1tag:blogger.com,1999:blog-6111070942729046874.post-53576731749196501782009-01-07T12:34:00.004-07:002009-01-07T12:53:07.757-07:00A Nice SurpriseI am back at work this week after a 2 week long vacation, but there is not much to do because the kids are not back until next Monday...that means long, boring days at work. The good thing is that we can leave early if there are not meetings that we need to attend. I left a little after 1:00pm yesterday because I was tired of staring at my computer screen...and there was some cleaning I wanted to get done before Ison got home from work. There were dishes to put away (we actually did the dishes the night before...so proud of ourselves), kitchen counters to be cleaned throughly, clothes needed to be put away in the bedroom and the bed to be made, and there were several things that just needed to be put away in the living room.

I drove home and then when I arrived on my street, I saw Ison's ugly (yes, it really is ugly, he says so himself) truck in front of the house and realized that he was home! Why was he home? He should have been back at work by 12:45... I opened the garage, which I knew he would hear, pulled in and went into the house and looked for him. He came down the stairs and said, "You're not supposed to be home yet!" I told him that I decided to come home early because my eyes hurt from staring at the computer. He told me that he decided to take a free half-day off that he earned at work to come home and clean, but he wanted to go get me a surprise as well. He took the car to go get it.

I had no clue what the surprise was going to be and he was gone about 2 hours (while I cleaned downstairs and ate some lunch) when he texted me saying that he could not find it. When he came home he just told me what he wanted to get me because he wanted to make sure I would like it. This is what it is:
I am so excited!! I want one of these jewelry armoires so bad because I hate having all my necklaces tangled up...makes me just not want to wear them. He got the idea for it today because he noticed that nearly all of my jewelry was laying all over my dresser and he wanted me to be able to put it all up. :) Since he couldn't find it at either of the Targets he went to, we went online and found it on clearance and ordered it. I don't know when it will get here, but I am so ready for it! I even have a place for it to go!

This may sound silly and such a small thing, but I just love being surprised by Ison! It's the little things that he does for me that show me how much he loves me. And what is the funnest part of all this is that I was actually wanting to surprise him with the cleaning myself...
EmilyLemilyhttp://www.blogger.com/profile/05193272896917269278noreply@blogger.com2tag:blogger.com,1999:blog-6111070942729046874.post-5923517771767765802008-12-16T13:12:00.002-07:002008-12-16T13:59:32.339-07:00What Emily needs:Emily needs to give Tim food in Social Studies today.
Emily needs a job.
Emily needs to run free.
Emily needs to be told, "No, there are certain things that are just NOT allowed."
Emily needs eating companions around noon on Wednesday.
Emily needs advise.
Emily needs to get her tortillas on Vimeo. He had 3 fish tanks out in Japan when he was stationed there. He also bought all the supplies to build a sump (filter) for it. I love it that he can do stuff like this. :) He also built the stand for it and is in the process of building the hood. We went to Petsmart and Petco and have been starting our collection of fish, of which the main event will be fancy goldfish. Why? Because they are really cheap to replace if they happen to die (which I hope they don't because I really like them) and they are really fun to watch wobble around the tank. Here is a picture of a few of them together:

Actually, this is all 6 of them if you look carefully. They like to swim around together in a little school. Sometimes they are in a line moving slowly from one end of the tank to the other...like they are playing "following the leader." Oh, and the pipes are in there because we are don't have extra money at the moment for decorative rocks...'tis the holidays and we are driving out to Arizona for almost a week.

Our cats are really liking the fish. And don't worry, they can't get into the tank because we have a temporary cover on it...more to keep the fish from jumping out than the cats from jumping in. Could you imagine one of the cats trying to tread water in there? I doubt that they would take that risk...
Here is Patch looking intently at 2 of his favorite fish: the golden dojo loaches. They like to burrow in the sand. Sometimes they hide so well that we can't find them for a long time, but it is fun when they suddenly poke their heads out.
Here is one of my favorite fish: Goggles. The cats both bat at these two from the outside the most because of how they wiggle all over the tank. It is very entertaining to watch them. We have 2 golden dojos, as I said before, and 4 kuhlis.

This is Skunk. Unfortunately you can't see it in this picture, but he has different colors on his fins and his dorsal fin looks like a mohawk. This was a fun picture to realize I had taken because he looks like he is surprised...maybe because I have a camera pointing at his face.

We also have 16 danios, which are small and fast, thus me not being able to take a good picture of them, and 2 green corydoras, but they were at the back of the tank when I was taking pictures and I couldn't focus on them. In total we have 30 fish and we will be getting more soon...maybe only 4 more corydoras and 4 more goldfish.EmilyLemilyhttp://www.blogger.com/profile/05193272896917269278noreply@blogger.com1tag:blogger.com,1999:blog-6111070942729046874.post-33399474998274125912008-09-22T12:01:00.003-06:002008-09-22T12:10:36.331-06:00I love to see the temple......I have now been inside. I love it! I was able to go through the temple Saturday afternoon and it was an amazing experience! There is just no words to describe it and there is so much to ponder on. My mom, dad, and sister were all there. My friend Leah and her husband and mother were there. And my wonderful soon-to-be husband Ison was there. It was a wonderful day. I am so glad that I went through a week before my wedding so that I have time to think of this great experience. I will be going again Tuesday with Ison and then after that I can't for a few weeks because of being busy with the wedding and the temple will be closed for two weeks. Isn't the temple a beautiful and wonderful place to be?

Only 5 more days until I am a Tenney!! I am ready!EmilyLemilyhttp://www.blogger.com/profile/05193272896917269278noreply@blogger.com3tag:blogger.com,1999:blog-6111070942729046874.post-27643799775741172392008-09-18T08:56:00.002-06:002008-09-18T09:04:31.646-06:00Nine more days!!I have been very busy lately, with moving and planning the wedding...I feel bad that I haven't stopped to update my blog in such a long time. Well, this will be short and sweet.

I am moved into the house where Ison and I will be living together...and I am still unpacking. I can't wait to be done with boxes! And Ison still has to move his stuff into the house, which he is starting to do today after work.

This Saturday I get to go through the temple! I am very excited! And Elizabeth flies in Friday so she can be here for it!

My allergies have been getting me and I am trying to get them under control in time for the wedding so that I am not sneezing during everything. I hate having seasonal allergies!

Work is good. All the students are excited for me to get married, so it makes me all the more excited for that day to finally come...as you can see by the title of the blog, only 9 more days to go and I will be a Tenney!

I told you this would be short...Maybe I will find some time to write another blog before the wedding, but then again maybe not. :)EmilyLemilyhttp://www.blogger.com/profile/05193272896917269278noreply@blogger.com2tag:blogger.com,1999:blog-6111070942729046874.post-80201026160719721052008-07-12T16:12:00.004-06:002008-07-12T16:57:48.547-06:00New Puppy! and a home...My roommate got a new puppy today! She was begging me last night and telling me that I really should let her get one and that the cats would only have to deal with it until I move into the house on base and she would take real good care of it and finally...she would be heartbroken if I didn't let her..... I said yes. And now we have a little 6 week old terrier-mini-poodle mix girl. She is adorable!! Her name is Darla. And the cats have stayed away from her, observing from a distance with much concern showing in their faces. Patch gets closer and then runs away when the puppy gets too close. Freckles, on the other hand, stays as far away as she could and when we force a close encounter, a nice hiss proceeds to escape her mouth. Darla couldn't care less. She doesn't seem phased by their reactions much so far.... I'm guessing that it's because she is so young and naive to what certain reactions mean.

I wasn't too sure about a dog...I never saw myself as a person to have a dog. I have always had cats. I have always liked cats. I have not liked dogs. Being chased by dogs while riding a bike when young makes a person not like dogs. Being hit in hard all over by a large, strong tail when young makes a person not like dogs. Being dragged by a St Bernard when babysitting resulting in black and blue knees makes a person not like a dog. But recently I have found that my encounters with dogs do not necessarily mean that something bad will happen. Like my friend Danny's dog, Capona. She is so pretty and nice. And my best friends dog, Jake. He is so good! And he listens to my commands and is excited to see me because he knows who I am. And now this cute puppy. Of course I don't like the fact that she has already peed in the house, but she is still in training.

-------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------

Ison and I know where we will be living!! Hooray! We have reserved a home that is at Kirtland Air Force Base here in Albuquerque! It is a 3 bedroom 2 story duplex! I am thrilled!! We are both thrilled! I'll be moving in first at the beginning of September because that will mean we will spend less on gas and I'll be closer to work...and really close to Ison! We hopefully won't be as tired as we were from all the driving back and forth across town. I can't wait!! A house all to myself for almost a month to get organized and then....I'll be married! Yay!

I was surprised at how nice the on-base housing is! Ison was surprised what his rank qualified him for house-wise...he thought it would be in the older housing on base. The neighbourhood looks so nice and well-maintained and we only have a small section of the yard that we will have to take care of ourselves...the rest of it is maintained by the base. I just can't tell you how excited I am that we will know where we will live!EmilyLemilyhttp://www.blogger.com/profile/05193272896917269278noreply@blogger.com4tag:blogger.com,1999:blog-6111070942729046874.post-27861992774832772652008-07-02T21:53:00.004-06:002008-07-02T22:28:41.453-06:00I got a new car! And engagement pictures...So I started driving about 8 years ago and my first vehicle was a 1990 Pontiac Transport SE: aka, a minivan that looked like a space shuttle. It lasted me through high school where my friends thought it was cool because I could fit so many people in it. It lasted me through college and my 30-45 minute commute between home and the university. It lasted me through the first year of my first real job. But now, no more lasting. It's old. It's not as nice to drive as it was at first. It doesn't have a working AC. Ison really doesn't like me driving it and calls it "the shuttle", which is now it's name to me and this nice car dealer we met. And now it is back with my parents. What ever will I do to get around now, you ask? Glad you asked me that! I introduce you to Emily and Ison's new car: a 2007 Pontiac Grand Prix!

Isn't it lovely? All shiny and just a year old! It was the first car that I drove when Ison and I started shopping and nothing else that we looked at really hit me like this one did.

It looks a little sporty, huh? Well, it may look small, but the leg room is great in the front AND the back! That was an absolute must because Ison is 6' 3'' and both of our families are rather tall...and we don't like to be squished in the back. The trunk is also amazingly large and fits a lot. I sure have to reach to get to the back of it!!

And me here with my new car. It is new. It is safe. It runs well. And it is mine to drive! Hooray for me and my car! :)

-------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------

And now for some pictures of the happy couple. These are just a sample because we took a lot of pictures! We used Ison's fancy camera and Daisy took the pictures after Ison would change the settings.

This pictures turned out really cute! It is in the aquarium in Albuquerque. This one is kind of fun because of the leaves out of focus in the foreground.

We were sitting by a pond here that was full of Koi in the Japanese garden section. And all because of him!

EmilyLemilyhttp://www.blogger.com/profile/05193272896917269278noreply@blogger.com5tag:blogger.com,1999:blog-6111070942729046874.post-58906555948097233772008-06-01T10:12:00.007-06:002008-06-01T11:23:12.962-06:00I'm Engaged!!!
So...I have this wonderful man in my life and he is horrible about keeping secrets! ;) It is very funny...We had already talked about getting married and picked a ring, but I had no idea when he was going to give me the ring! It was making me a little crazy because I didn't know when to expect the official proposal. Well, he slipped up! He spilled that he would have to for sure call his parents again on Saturday..."Saturday?" I ask...He blew it! I was safe from the unsureness until Saturday. I tried not prying, but he also told me something about Olive Garden, which is my favorite restaurant and where we bagan our first date. I thought it would not happen until Saturday night.

So, Friday Ison left to go to a YSA Regional Campout while I stayed here. I was glad I didn't go because I was so tired! The whole evening all I could really think about was that I wanted Ison to be here with me...I missed him!

Saturday morning I got up and helped a little at my parents house with their swamp cooler. Then home I went to shower and get ready to go to the Botanical Gardens with my parents and roommate. When we got there, Daisy asked for my camera, which I gave to her. We walked through just a couple of sections when we got to this one part where couples could have their weddings. There were a lot of white folding chairs set up and an area that was risen for the ceremony to take place. Daisy told me to go pose for Ison, so I got up there feeling silly and didn't know what to do. That's when I heard Ison and saw him coming up to me...WOW! I was completely surprised!!! You can see for yourself what happened here:

I know the sound isn't very good, but you can tell what happened...he asked me to marry him and I said yes! That only takes up a little of the video...He was shaking so bad! I had no idea that he was going to be at the gardens! Of course I had a little fantasy in my head about how it would be great if he showed up and proposed, but I never thought that it would happen! :) I couldn't stop smiling all day yesterday!!!

So, there you have it...I'm getting married!!! He does not even have to be with me and I grin from ear to ear! :) We have only been dating 2 1/2 weeks now, but it feels like a few months! Maybe it's because I see him every day except for Wednesdays...I spend those days with my mom and dad.

Well, he made a blog...mostly so he could comment on the comments made about his pictures that I posted... ;) He is so funny. I love it that I have found such a great and wonderful friend!!!

-------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------

So I have this yucky infection in my mouth called thrush...for the 4th time! It is so annoying! It makes it very hard to eat and talk...and yawning is just torture!! It has been hurting since Friday night and this morning was the first time that I did not cry uncontrollably when I brushed my teeth and used my mouthwash. YAY! I have this wonderfully fantastic medication called Nystatin that I have to use every 6 hours for 14 days (12 more to go) and it does not taste the best, but it is sure making me feel better!

For those of you who know of thrush, usually old people and babies get it...my doctor (when I got it the 2nd time) could not figure out how I got it until he realized that I used an inhailer for my asthma...DO NOT FORGET TO RINSE YOUR MOUTH AFTER USING YOUR INHAILER!! Bad things might happen...

-------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------

My sad news today is that this weekend a member of my single's branch died. He was camping with a couple of other branch members and they were cutting down a few trees. The first one came down fine, but the second one became stuck in another tree. The three of them pushed on it and while they were pushing it, the top 20 feet or so snapped off and fell onto two of them. Alan died from his wounds there and the other was rushed to the hospital. The one in the hospital is scheduled to be released today, which is a miricle because his injuries were critical when he was admitted. Tomorrow I get to take off work for a couple of hours to attend Alan's funeral. He was such a wonderful guy. He could always make someone laugh, had the most amusing stories to share in different classes, and played the piano beautifully. Our branch will miss him terribly...

-------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------

It rained last night!! Yay! We have not had rain for........goodness, I'm not sure how long! It was great to wake up and see everything wet! I'm surprised that it didn't wake me up! There apparently was thunder and lightning...I guess I was too tired from staying up to late with Ison..hehe!

EmilyLemilyhttp://www.blogger.com/profile/05193272896917269278noreply@blogger.com2tag:blogger.com,1999:blog-6111070942729046874.post-40960881772278268822008-05-03T08:12:00.004-06:002008-05-03T08:21:07.007-06:00A Boyfriend for Emily :)Well, I have a boyfriend and he is just amazing! And I do not like it one bit! Yesterday morning at about 2:00am I woke up because my stomick (and I know I spelled it wrong... I can't remember how to spell it!) hurt...and I was sneezing like crazy! It took me a while to fall asleep again...which made me upset and tearful because I really was tired and wanted to sleep and not sneeze and not have an upset tummy. Poor me. ;)

So all day yesterday it was sneeze after sneeze while I shopped with my roommate for some bare necessities. One of my roommates moved out Friday, so me and Daisy were moving all my cats belongings (litter, food, water, toys, beds, etc.) into the spare room...where they will remain at least for now. For that room I bought a really cheap rug for the cats to lay on because the floor is concrete...it previously was the garage.

I work at a high school, for those of you who do not know. And it might interest you that when I started working there, a lot of the kids thought that I attended the school! And the people on the commuter bus that I take thought I attended the school! From what I gather, they thought I was between 15 and 18! I do not think I look that young, but I AM hoping that it keeps up with me as a grow older. ;)

I need to go to bed now and snuggle with my 2 cats, who are meowing at me, trying to get my attention, which I give them so much of!

EmilyLemilyhttp://www.blogger.com/profile/05193272896917269278noreply@blogger.com4tag:blogger.com,1999:blog-6111070942729046874.post-47995253100793857102008-02-27T12:59:00.003-07:002008-02-27T13:14:59.314-07:00Boo BYU Cougers!!!
I went to the BYU v UNM men's basketball game last night...and I am so sad that my Lobos lost!! It was quite the exciting game, though. We were winning most of the game, and then we were tied at the end, so we went into overtime...where we proceeded to loose!!! By one tiny little point! *sigh* Oh well, I guess...

The Pit (which is what our basketball arena is called) was sold out, so me and all the other YSA had to buy standing only tickets and then try to find a place to sneak into a seat. Not that that helped because we were in the student section and the only time that section sits is during half time. We were all really going crazy, especially during the last part since it was such a close game, but there were a lot of fans that decided since we were playing BYU they could talk trash about Mormons. Some of the stuff hurt my feelings...not because they were directed at me, because they weren't, but because they were things that they obviously knew very little about. And I thought it was really ridiculous to bring that up during a game because religion had nothing to do with the basketball game...just brought that up because it bothered me.

I had so much fun spending time with a lot of the YSA from my branch. I have been in my shell for a while and now I have been going out of my way to go do things, even if I don't want to. Like last night! I didn't want to go, but I am very glad that I did, even though I didn't get home until after 1:00! I am sleepy, but at least I am focused on my work, which I was worried I wouldn't be.

GO LOBOS!!!

EmilyLemilyhttp://www.blogger.com/profile/05193272896917269278noreply@blogger.com0tag:blogger.com,1999:blog-6111070942729046874.post-69564528580682942462008-02-05T08:33:00.000-07:002008-02-05T08:41:14.794-07:00Snow and IceIt was snowing when I got out of work and snowed until I went to bed. There really wasn't that much...not even an inch...but at least the roads didn't freeze up like they did last Tuesday. (school was cancelled because New Mexicans think they can drive on the ice...they can't!) I got up, showered and got all ready to go. I ride the city bus from a park and ride because I don't like to buy gas, pay for parking, and my vehicle needs some work done on it. When I got out to my car, the windows were frozen solid! It took all I had in me to scrap my windows...and it didn't help that my heater never turned on this morning! Poor little frozen me...I was thinking that I would not have to deal with it much longer, but as I pulled into the park and ride, there was the 94 Taylor Ranch/Unser Express bus leaving! So, I had to brave the cold of my mini-van and drive to work, which I arrived at 20 minutes early. Surprisingly, I am in a good mood! I am glad of that...I like being happy.EmilyLemilyhttp://www.blogger.com/profile/05193272896917269278noreply@blogger.com5
